Farewell Hollywood Icon

23 03 2011

Elizabeth Taylor passed away this morning, and although it was bound to happen eventually, this passing was especially sorrowful. This is because I have always been told I look like Elizabeth Taylor: her striking, bold dark features, her thick, brunette locks, and her soft and gentle face. Aside from that simple physical connection, I had always admired Taylor for her Hollywood glamour, and success in her field (she was a two-time Academy Award-winning actress, sharing that honor with only ten others). Plus, Elizabeth Taylor was Jewish, which was also pretty special. So to celebrate Taylor’s life, I want to share some of my favorite photos of her:

Effortless Glam

Coy, and with the smallest waist.

With Paul Newman, another favorite recently deceased actor of Old Hollywood.

An Andy Warhol print.

A Vik Muniz piece made from diamonds.

A Richard Avedon portrait.
