Hola Chicos! Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! At it’s simplest, it is the Mexican version of St. Patrick’s Day or Mardi Gras! In other words, an excuse for many Americans who are not Mexican to party and drink. However, more realistically, Wikipedia explains to us, that:

“Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “fifth of May”) is a voluntarily observed holiday that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States.”

While on my recent trip to Mexico, I frequently heard many traditional and popular Mexican songs. The songs quickly caught on among my family and became our pleasant soundtrack during our trip. Below are two of my favorite Mexican tunes:
