I Love Sandwiches

I love sandwiches. They can come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colors, ingredient combinations. They can be served any time of day for any meal or as a snack. Sandwiches can be made with bread, crackers, tortilla, cookies, lettuce, or anything. You can put anything in the middle of a sandwich. 

Sometimes the most unexpected fillings can surprise you with a winning flavor combination. I have been getting pretty creative lately, with the sandwiches I make for lunch, daily. Here are some of my favorite creations. They are super easy to make and taste delicious. Enjoy!

 

  • wheat bread
  • sliced deli turkey or chicken of most any variety
  • lots of lettuce for the vegetable and a bonus crunch!
  • the key ingredient here is a thick layer of hummus on one slice of bread
  • mustard to taste
  • (optional: sliced tomatoes)

  • cinnamon swirl bread (with or without raisins)
  • sliced maple glazed turkey (or a similar sweet variety)
  • lettuce
  • honey dijon mustard to taste

  • cinnamon swirl bread (with or without raisins)
  • a heavy slathering of peanut butter (crunchy or smooth) for both slices of bread
  • a handful of pretzels to layer on top of the peanut butter of one slice. (I used regular mini pretzels, but mini sticks could also fit nicely.)
