Simeon Varlamov Is A Beast

21 04 2009

I have five words about the 3rd game in the Caps vs. Rangers playoff series ’09:

Simeon Varlamov is a BEAST.

He is the Alex Ovechkin of goalies. He’s young and he’s unstoppable. I can’t sing his praise enough.

He is also the youngest player (20 years) in all Stanley Cup playoff history to record a shutout.

The Caps won last night in NYC 4-0. Not only is a score of 4 to nothing an amazing score that the Caps pulled off away from home in the playoffs, but 4-0 is a pretty remarkable score in any game, playoff or not. And again, even more ridiculous for a minor league call up back-up goalie. Just plain wow.
